As a Backend Engineer, you will be building marketplace infrastructure, which includes merchant and article onboarding services, order processing, fulfillment integrations, and analytical services, with public-facing interfaces for both developers and merchants, scaling our current systems and building new ones from scratch. All that while dealing with high-volume transactional and sensitive data.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
- You and your team will take ownership of the whole development cycle – from architecture design to implementation and testing as well as maintenance.
- You will collaborate with engineers, UX, product management and other teams to grow our business and provide the best experience for our customers.
- You will own your code and contribute to decisions on the technologies and tools to deliver as well as operate large-scale applications on cloud (AWS or Kubernetes), based on a microservices architecture
- Take part in service operational duties, including monitoring and keeping them up and running and healthy
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals combined with a strong capacity for solving complex problems.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on development experience in an Agile, commercial setting.
- Experience with building microservices in one of our preferred technologies, like Java, Scala with Akka or cats-effect, Go, NodeJS/Purescript, Haskell.
- Experience in software development, involving designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services – a great advantage.
- Knowledge of cloud architectures as well as experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Knowledge in technologies like Kubernetes and Docker but not limited to them
- Knowledge in architecture/design methods and patterns, data and API specifications, quality assurance and testing methods
- Great communication skills
